Hi, Carter Dewey with DataRemote. I’m here with the new CDS-9090 LTE enterprise-grade router. It’s the newest in the POTS IN A BOX® portfolio.
What this features is five Ethernet ports—four LAN and one WAN. It has Wi-Fi, a backup battery, and LTE capability. Most importantly, it has eight RJ-11 lines that replicate a PSTN POTS line.
We’ve got a demonstration here that I’d like to go through with you. I have an active call going right now. I’ve got a Bosch fire panel that’s going to be communicating modem data. I’ve got a burglar panel that’s going to be transmitting Contact ID. All of that is represented here in the PBX and transmitted over the CDS-9090 via LTE.
I’ve got the active call here. I’m going to go ahead and set off this fire panel—I’m sorry, the burglar panel. Okay, we’re in trouble. Let’s go ahead. Okay, we’re safe.
Now I’m going to go ahead and trip the fire panel. We’ve got multiple communications that are now being transmitted, again over the CDS-9090 via LTE, which are routed into the PBX. You’re going to start seeing the alarms come in at the same time that the voice call is active here. In a moment, the third call will come in.
One of the features that’s really nice about our solution is that we have a QoS monitoring solution that, if turned on, will record the call and capture a visual as well. Here, let me go ahead and play this for you.
Quite often, when there’s an issue with the panel, it’s hard to tell if it’s the panel itself, the dialer, the actual line of communication, or a modem in the central station.
What you’re going to hear comes from the central station’s modem bank and then the panel’s response. The first contact is called a handshake. We can listen through that, and then the panel delivers its payload.
I apologize for all the noise, too. To most folks, including myself, it’s just a lot of noise, and it’s hard to make sense of what this communication is. But for industry experts and the DataRemote engineers, this gives end-to-end visibility into that call, where they can troubleshoot a panel, an elevator, or a mode of communication.
