Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

DataRemote builds communications equipment that fire alarms, elevator phones, and emergency call boxes depend on — reliability for everyone is the point of the product, and we hold this website to the same idea. We want every visitor, including people using assistive technology, to be able to research POTS replacement, read our guides, and reach our team without barriers.

Conformance target and current status

DataRemote.com aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

We assess the site as partially conformant: most of the site meets the standard, and some parts — noted under “Known limitations” below — do not yet fully conform. This assessment is based on ongoing internal evaluation using a combination of automated checks and manual keyboard and screen-reader review during development, not on a third-party audit.

Measures we take

Accessibility on this site is enforced in the build and design system, not just checked after the fact:

• Color contrast is governed by a fixed set of design tokens with documented contrast rules — for example, brand-red text is restricted to backgrounds where it meets the 4.5:1 AA ratio, with darker variants required elsewhere.
• Keyboard operability: all interactive components — navigation menus, accordions, search, dialogs, and forms — are usable by keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators and a “Skip to content” link on every page.
• Native semantics first: disclosure widgets use native <details>/<summary> elements, forms use real labels, and status messages use ARIA live regions, so assistive technology gets browser-standard behavior rather than re-implementations.
• Touch targets on interactive controls have a minimum size of 44×44 CSS pixels.
• Images carry text alternatives; purely decorative graphics are marked so screen readers skip them.
• Motion is used sparingly, and the site respects the prefers-reduced-motion setting for visitors who have reduced animation in their operating system.
• Structure: pages use a logical heading hierarchy and landmark regions.

Known limitations

We know about the following, in varying stages of remediation:

• PDF documents. Some downloadable datasheets and manuals in our documentation library are older PDFs that may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need the content of any document in an accessible format, contact us and we will provide it.
• Newsletter archive. Past email newsletters on our newsletter page are rendered in their original email format, which uses layout techniques from email clients rather than modern web semantics. Each issue can also be opened as a standalone page, and the surrounding controls are fully accessible.
• Interactive 3D product viewers on certain product pages are supplementary; every specification they illustrate is also available as text on the same page.
• Embedded third-party content (for example YouTube videos and embedded social posts) is rendered by its provider and may not meet the same standard as the rest of the site.
