UL 864 covers control units and accessories for fire alarm systems. DataRemote pursued it voluntarily — it is not required for POTS replacement devices — so installers have documented certification when a device carries fire alarm panel communications. The certification is issued by Intertek as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory.
